Project verwandt.de – D-LABS project results successfully implemented
verwandt.de is an internet platform for shared creation and maintenance of family trees, family social networking, and hobby genealogy.
During this project the D-LABS team met the challenge to evaluate the usability of the platform and its functionalities and to generate recommendations for optimization. Methodically it focuses mainly on the conducted qualitative interviews and observations of new and of skilled users of verwandt.de within the target groups of users from 30 to 50 years and of users older than 50 years. The ideas that were found during the interviews and the ideas of the D-LABS team were outlined, validated with other users and prioritized. Thereupon, selected ideas were worked out and described in detail.
The successful implementation of the elaborated navigation concept of D-LABS shows that the developed concepts are applicable and feasible.
Further exiting ideas and concepts of the project will be implemented at the moment. They will encourage the activities of the users. – The CEO of verwandt.de, Daniel Grözinger, is convinced of that:
“The resulting concepts had helped us to develop the platform of verwandt.de further and to encourage the interaction between the generations.”
