Successful expert evaluation with InnoBest
The ability to keep up a certain level of innovation has become a key success factor for small- and mid-sized enterprises. Companies face the challenge to develop the necessary accomplishments for such an undertaking on their own while they follow their everyday routines. Consequently the question rises: What makes innovations successful? And which are the related steps to achieve innovations that fit the characteristics of my business? The Berlin innovation management company “consurge” offers small- and midsized companies consulting services that help them to increase their innovation potentials. During a so called „innovation audit“ a detailed business profile is developed that enables the customer to deduce certain innovation potentials together with experts from consurge. This process is mainly based on a software tool called „InnoBest“. InnoBest is especially designed for consultants who can use the audit software to visualise and compare the innovation potentials of their customers.
Consurge autorized D-LABS in order to purposefully improve InnoBest and the user related content of the software. Within a so-called quick check D-LABS conducted an expert evaluation of the software tool that concentrated on the compliance of the software with current usability norms. A multidisciplinary team consisting of user researchers and designers evaluated the software solution based on the DIN EN ISO Norm 9241. In addition, the general comfort of the software was inspected and it was tested whether InnoBest meets the basic needs of the users.
The InnoBest software turned out to be a very modern and progressive IT solution. Still D-LABS was able to identify certain opportunities that will improve the software use. The recommendations will now be considered by consurge in the ongoing software development processes.
“The D-LABS quick check gave fast and surprising insights to our developer team regarding the user-friendliness of the software. We were able to solve meaningful defects prior to the market introduction which we haven’t noticed during our tests – great job!“ (Stefan Kutter, founder of innobest.net).
